News10. 5. 2008Jim's first SM foal was born in the middle of the day on May 6th. She is a beautiful grulla/dun filly and has been named Cheyenne Promise. She loves to run and play but tends to like to sleep through the heat of the day. She is a nice quality, very much like her half-sister Lakota Starflower. We couldn't be more pleased! Both Dam and foal are healthy and in good form! Teton Magic looks to be imminent and I can't wait to see what surprise she has in store for me!!30.12.2007It has been a year of mixed blessings, but all ended well. There were some wonderful foals born here, and I feel privileged to have been a part of their lives.Teton Brave and "Twiggy" moved to France just before Christmas to take on the huge task of perpetuating and promoting the breed on the Continent. Harling and Lakota Starflower have gone to lovely homes in Norfolk, where they will eventually be doing Endurance. They get to spend their foalhood together, which is lovely.Blueskin is still here, entertaining the rest of the herd, but I am sure the perfect home for him will be materialising soon. All mares have been bred to Jim, and the first foals are expected in May. As always I wait with great anticipation for the lovely surprises in stall for me.Restless Wind is starting saddle training and she is offered for sale as part of our rotational mare-program. She has really turned a corner recently and has let me know she is ready for greater adventures. She will have a late foal in 2008.Our stallion Wanbli Iyan (aka Jim) did ever so well in his first season doing Endurance, and has upgraded to Open Level for 2008. I couldn't have wished for a nicer horse to ride at the 3 competitive events we entered. He put many older horses to shame with his professional attitude! Right now he is on holiday, looking hairy, muddy and fat, but loving every minute of it!Winter is drawing in, and it is quiet here without the foals. Time to batten down the hatches, brave the mud and bitter cold and wait for the days to get longer again, the sun to re-gain its strength and the patter of tiny feet...Happy New Year from Martine and the Spanish Mustang Gang!
